Bon Secours Mercy Health Claims Coordinator, Infusion Intake in Cincinnati, Ohio

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position:

The Claims Coordinator, Infusion Intake, is responsible for coordinating activities that are related to the review and handling of infusion claims for the organization. This position supports the pharmacy shared services infusion intake team. This position requires strong time management and organizational skills, along with technical proficiency and flexibility. Daily functions include management and organization of a wide array of medical documents, financial information and other sensitive or confidential information; perform clerical/administrative duties as needed; ensure timely and accurate data entry and information management; assist with claim-related tasks within specified coverage lines. Cross-coverage for the Ministry may be required. Strong attention to detail and compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations is essential for success.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Supports the accurate and complete maintenance of claims files and records in accordance with operating procedures and audit requirements.

  • Prepares letters, reports and memoranda; edits and corrects data on routine documents.

  • Accurately posts and retrieves data from various sources; prepares and maintains reports.

  • Answers and files correspondence and performs similar duties requiring the exercise of independent judgment and knowledge of claims.

  • Supports the pharmacy shared services team in the completion of projects and performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ensures legal compliance by following all relevant company policies, procedures, and guidelines as well as state and federal insurance and other regulatory requirements.

  • Maintains quality customer service by following all standard operating procedures and timely responding to or anticipating customer needs.

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with all operational areas.

  • Protects operations by keeping all claim, patient and proprietary information confidential.

  • Adheres to all BSMH organizational and department specific policies and standards including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, mission and values.

Education:

Associate's degree preferred.

Licensing/Certification:

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Required

Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) Preferred

Certified Hematology and Oncology Coder (CHONC) Preferred

Work Experience :

Three (3) years of related experience in medical coding or hospital billing preferred.
