Job Description: Kokosing, Inc. is currently seeking a Controller for its subsidiary McGraw/Kokosing. This position is responsible for reporting on the company's financial results and to ensure financial information is accurate and in compliance with general accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required CPA license preferred Experience: Previous public accounting experience preferred Construction accounting experience preferred Prior management experience preferred Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel Essential Job Functions: Manage the accounting team that is responsible for payroll, accounts payable and job billings Manage the month-end close process for the business unit Prepare and maintain specified balance sheet reconciliation schedules to ensure compliance with GAAP Prepare, review, and post journal entries to support the month-end close process Preparation of the monthly WIP schedule Preparation of the monthly financial statement packages, including various management reports Work with operations to ensure accurate reporting of job cost and billing information Assist with the annual external audit by preparing necessary workpapers and other requests as needed Assist with preparation of year-end income tax schedules for external tax preparers Support the business development team by providing requested prequalification information as needed Kokosing is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action federal and state contractor.
