BOOZ ALLEN HAMILTON INC Laboratory Manager, Junior in Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Number: R0193221 Laboratory Manager, Junior Key Role: Operate client laboratory preparation rooms. Monitor and troubleshoot equipment operation and maintain records detailing preparation room usage. Clean and sterilize glassware from laboratories, and sterilize and package infectious waste from these laboratories. Provide administrative support in maintaining a repository of chemical locations using existing inventory software and coordinate the receipt, barcoding, and delivery of incoming chemical purchases and chemical transfers. Coordinate the annual re-inventory of materials. Maintain regulatory documentation for the function of autoclaves and other glassware and sterilization equipment. Coordinate the operation of an effluent decontamination system and perform daily, weekly, and monthly checks on equipment operation, including sterilization biological indicator testing in accordance with quality assurance procedures. Ensure equipment is operating per State of Ohio infectious waste treatment permit requirements and maintain regulatory required documentation of operation and proper sterilization. Basic Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in laboratory environments Experience with autoclaves and sterilizers for the disinfection of work materials and sterilization of infectious materials Experience working with infectious agents Experience with using Microsoft Word, Excel, or Access Knowledge of good lab practices, lab safety and controls, and biohazards Knowledge of Biosafety Level 1 & 2 work practices Ability to show flexibility and adaptability in a working environment Ability to physically lift up to 40lbs and perform extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and pushing items Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of experience working in laboratory environments in lieu of a degree Additional Qualifications: Experience with using chemical inventory database management software Experience with developing and presenting biological safety training Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification preferred Professional Certificate in Microbiology, Biosafety, or technical discipline Vetting: Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client.
