Talbert House School Navigator - SW Ohio Behavioral Health School to Work Porgram in Cincinnati, Ohio

Position Summary

The School Navigators will be responsible for recruitment as well as providing information on engagement activities for high school students, parents, and faculty, to raise awareness of behavioral health career and recruit students to enroll in the program. School Navigators will also provide guidance and support for high school students and graduates seeking paraprofessional credentials and youth employment.  This position will work heavily with school personnel to coordinate between the school, youth employment programs, and training organizations.  School Navigators will report to the Director and work in close collaboration with the Vice President of Talent and Engagement as well as the Vice President of Mental Health, overseeing School Based services.

Position Description and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director and VP Talent and Engagement to assess the effectiveness of recruitment and engagement strategies and make recommendations for implementation and program improvement.
  • Conduct engaging presentations and informational sessions for high school students, parents, and faculty to highlight career opportunities in the behavioral health field.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to encourage student enrollment in behavioral health programs.
  • Utilize creative writing and marketing design skills to produce engaging promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, and digital content.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure cohesive and impactful messaging across all marketing channels.
  • Provide one-on-one and group guidance sessions for high school students and graduates seeking paraprofessional credentials in behavioral health.
  • Collaborate with on-site behavioral health staff in the school for implementation and oversight of student peer education and support
  • Provide clinical oversight of peer education and peer support within the school setting
  • Act as a liaison between schools, youth employment programs, and training organizations to facilitate seamless coordination and support for students.
  • Assist students in identifying and applying for youth employment opportunities relevant to their career interests in behavioral health.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with higher education institutions to create pathways for students to advance their careers.
  • Develop and nurture strong partnerships with high schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the behavioral health program and recruit students.
  • Attend community events, career fairs, and other relevant activities to network and advocate for the program.
  • Collect and analyze data on student participation and outcomes to inform program development and reporting.
Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience in public speaking, sales, and creative marketing.

Strong organizational and coordination skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Passion for youth development and behavioral health and a commitment to supporting student success.
