What You'll Accomplish as VP, Digital & Instore Cardholder Payments

You will be the level 3 process owner for digital payments (and pay-by-phone). As a process owner you will be responsible for service delivery of these payment processes to achieve internal & external service level targets, mitigating risk within the process and strategically collaborating with our technology run and build teams to continually evolve our payment experiences.

What You'll Do:

  • Champion Customers: Oversee the internal and external suppliers/partners performing digital, pay-by-phone and instore cardholder payment processing to deliver on our commitments to customers; partnering to continuously optimize processes.

  • Act as Owners: Partner with key analytics, client teams, surveillance and other functions teams to maximize the effectiveness of digital and pay-by-phone payments and ensuring controls are in place to rapidly identify gaps.

  • Relate and Inspire: Build strong relationships and product/process expertise so that ideas are proactively shared for the mutual benefit of Synchrony, customers and clients. Drive a collaborated strategic roadmap for new and improved process offerings.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for digital and pay by phone cardholder payment processing and performance and service levels commitments.

  • Partner with finance, technology and operations run and build teams who support digital and pay-by-phone payments.

  • Responsible for strong and committed oversight of the processes including but not limited to establishing and managing a strong governance environment - issue management, issue insights, control reviews - through deep, connected and constructive engagements with all lines of defense (surveillance, risk, compliance & audit).

  • Seeks continuous improvement of process. Monitor and manage operational items, process changes, and contract updates as it relates to SLAs. Leverage analytics to drive process delivery, improvement, decision making and strategic vision.

  • Understand and engage upstream and downstream functional impacts to digital payments and pay-by-phone cardholder payment processes as it relates to the continuous business transformation through digital initiatives.

  • Act as a liaison, escalation contact, collaborator and bridge between the various functional groups involved in the management and development of digital payments within the organization, which happens across platforms (Technology, Operations, Growth and Treasury).

  • Support and influence SDS Payments strategic goals by Identifying the process operations future.

  • Responsible for Payments (overall) data and reporting design and maintenance leading analytics reporting teams to build and evolve our payments control center and dashboards.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years working in the financial services industry.

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience collaborating.

  • 4+ years of wing-to-wing project management experience.

  • Demonstrated strength in compiling, analyzing, and presenting data.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Grade/Level: 14

The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
