PPG INDUSTRIES, INC. Plant Manager in Circleville, Ohio

As a Plant Manager, you will provide operational management for the entire production process in support of the Automotive OEM business in Circleville, OH. This is achieved by a candidate that demonstrates ownership, a strategic problem-solving history of continuous improvement, and a record of accomplishment in delivering results. You will make a critical contribution to the profitability of the business by coordinating each step of the production process to ensure customers' needs are met! You will report to the OEM Americas Director of Operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for promoting the safety culture, operational excellence, and LSS philosophy to improve processes, ensuring delivery of key objectives for the company.
  • Drastically improve the current level of performance in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.
  • Collaborate with functional departments and cross-functional areas to improve current effectiveness.
  • Lead a clean, safe, cost-efficient production organization that is committed to a high level of first run capability and is responsive to changes in the marketplace.
  • Evaluates equipment, facility, warehouse, and process needs, and prepare capital authorizations to meet current and future needs.
  • Develop and maintain a work force that is highly skilled, motivated and committed to organizational objectives with effective utilization of staff.
  • Build a continuous improvement & operational excellence culture in global operations.
  • Develop the strategic deployment for the business continuous improvement area.
  • Facilitate the strategic deployments for global and regional operations.
  • Selection and operation of continuous improvement administrative systems (4DX, Companion, etc.)
  • Promote a culture of proactive, data-oriented problem solving throughout the enterprise.
  • Continuously monitor, identify, and apply industry best practices for continuous improvements methods.
  • Provide development for employees, and career opportunities through dedicated practitioner job rotations.
  • Provide change management support and strategic partnership within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with Chemical Engineering or Chemistry preferred; Advanced degree, such as MBA, is desired.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience of demonstrated success managing chemical plants.
  • Proven executive presence and the ability to influence and facilitate group settings at all levels of the organization.
  • Possess strong influential skills, professional presence, and facilitation capability.
  • Proficient in DMAIC/DFLSS and Kaizen project execution-Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred (Green belt or Black belt).
  • Strong determination for action and an ability to build and implement initiatives to drive performance improvement, providing examples of tangible results.
  • Experience in management of unionized plants.
