This role is responsible for developing sustainable and profitable business relationships with key chain customers in the supermarket channel to achieve sales targets, profitability, and market share objectives.

Main responsibilities:

1. Develop Sustainable Business in Key Chain Customers:

  • Plan and execute winning customer business plans to achieve current year targets and grow compared to the previous year.

  • Execute Joint Business Planning (JBP) with key chain customers.

  • Negotiate pay-for-performance KPIs to ensure profitable growth.

2. Key Chain Customer Management:

  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with key chain customers.

  • Negotiate mutually beneficial annual terms and conditions.

  • Cultivate and maintain beneficial business relationships with key customers at all organizational levels.

  • Ensure consistent distribution and availability of relevant CHC brands and outperform competitors.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Trade Marketing teams to formulate and execute promotion strategies that drive profitable sales growth.

3. Investment Management:

  • Work with the Revenue Growth Management team to manage Gross To Net investments effectively.

  • Apply financial and strategic management skills to ensure a good return on investment.

4. Merchandising Management:

  • Collaborate with merchandising teams to ensure best-in-class product displays and shopper engagement in-store.

  • Align with trade marketing to ensure in-store execution meets planned customer standards.

5. Data-Driven Analysis & Management:

  • Participate in monthly demand reviews as necessary.

  • Provide and monitor relevant 3-month rolling forecasts for key customers.

  • Conduct pre and post-promotion analyses with marketing or trade marketing teams to ensure effective ROI.

  • Monitor category and competitor market intelligence, share insights, and initiate actions as needed.

  • Collect and analyze monthly offtake data from key customers and share insights with the commercial team.

6. Receivables Management:

  • Ensure timely processing and appropriate support for debit notes.

  • Work closely with distributor finance and customers to resolve any disputed credit or debit notes.

About you

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in key account/customer development.

  • Strong financial acumen.

  • Proficiency in planning and executing business reviews and joint business planning.

  • Solid strategic and tactical negotiation skills at all levels of the customer organization.

  • Strong communication and high-level customer engagement skills.

  • Business development mindset.

  • Innovative thinking.
