Fortive Corporation Buyer/Planner in Cleveland, Ohio

Based in Solon, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland, our Tektronix supply chain operations team at Keithley Instruments is looking for a strategic Buyer/Planner. We’re passionate about optimizing inventory, refining purchasing processes, and continuously improving. Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency in supply chain operations. Analyze inventory needs for timely material availability.

  • Manage inventory, purchasing, and strategic planning.

  • Implement Kanban systems, negotiate prices, and support operational requirements, strategic planning and execution.

  • Keep track of inventory levels to minimize storage costs and meet production schedules.

  • Practice cross-functional teamwork by coordinating with other departments to align supply chain strategies companywide.

  • Confer on contracts, assess supplier performance, and resolve issues.

  • Source, order, and manage parts/products to meet material plans, customer orders, and inventory targets.

  • Establish standard costs, account for variances, and optimize material costs.

  • Drive metrics achievement and personal development plans.

  • Evaluate shipping and delivery processes, report on critical metrics, and identify and resolve bottlenecks.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of Purchasing/Planning experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Proficient in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen Methodology, and Kanban calculations.

  • Experience implementing and leading SIOP processes.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle and Oracle Fusion preferred).

  • Ability to expedite product deliveries from suppliers.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Effective multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

  • Skilled in influencing and project management.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
