In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. What you get to do every single day

• Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

• Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

• Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations

• Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

• Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

• Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

• Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

• Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

• Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis Requirements - Strong attention to detail

• Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

• Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

• Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

• General familiarity with fixed assets

• Proven knowledge of cash management

• Experience with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics

• Intercompany Accounting experience desired

• Strong familiarity with month end closings

• Multi-State Processing experience preferred

• Well-founded grasp of treasury

• Monthly Financial Statements experience preferred

• Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

• Excellent oral and written communications skills

• CPA/MBA preferred

• Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

• Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
