Case Western Reserve University Director of Undergraduate Student Support in Cleveland, Ohio

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Lead and manage administrative and student support functions for the Office of Undergraduate and Integrated Studies (UGIS). Collaborate with the associate dean and the undergraduate team to establish, plan, and achieve program goals, ensuring coordinated services that efficiently support new and existing initiatives.

Design and deliver services to enhance the educational experience and satisfaction of Weatherhead School undergraduate and integrated study students. Interpret university and school policy related to academic affairs and federal regulations related to higher education and financial aid delivery in strategic planning of undergraduate and integrated study academic programs and related services.

Drive growth in enrollment for major, minor, and support courses within the school of management undergraduate program through market-driven curriculum development and strategic student service initiatives. The office supports over 1,200 students, with an annual course enrollment headcount exceeding 6,500.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Work cooperatively with the associate dean and department chairs to contribute to continuous improvement efforts in programs by benchmarking with peer institutions, monitoring trends in academia and industry, and developing strategic recommendations to relevant Weatherhead and university committees. Represent the school of management to various faculty and campus administrative units and committees within the school and university-wide relating to the program's curriculum issues and recruitment, placement, financial aid, technology, evaluation, and other critical aspects involving student life. Represent Weatherhead School on behalf of the dean and associate dean when requested. (10%)

Event programming: Support/collaborate on co-curricular and social programming for undergraduate students. Assess programming needs and implement appropriate programming solutions in conjunction with student leaders, professionals from various career fields, alumni, faculty, and others. Work cooperatively with the alumni and development office on programming events. (20%)

Communications oversight: Work cooperatively with the school of management and various university marketing teams to oversee market-driven design, content, and delivery of external communications to prospective and current undergraduate students using a variety of external media, including social media and web pages. Develop and execute a plan for regular web content updates to draw potential students and inform existing students. Identify and help develop relevant new social media content weekly to engage existing and/or potential students. Oversee updated content of the undergraduate websites. Manage the electronic repository of undergraduate program facts/pictures/videos course enrollment. (15%)

Data Acquisition, Analysis and Evaluation: Work cooperatively with the associate dean and the dean's office on data acquisition, analysis, and evaluation oversight of overall programs, interpreting data relating to student and program needs and devise creative strategies to meet those needs. Provide school--specific information for all local, regional, and national surveys regarding undergraduate business programs. Continually communicate the status of undergraduate program performance to the associate dean, staff colleagues, the school of management dean's office/management team and committee members. Participate in the AACSB re-accreditation process, i.e., become knowledgeable of accreditation procedures and report qualitative and quantitative data in support of accreditation, collaborating with the associate dean to gather and interpret data and prepare reports. Work with MGMT 198 and MGMT 398 instructors, managing and tracking completion of team assessments, and coordinating logistics for final team presentations (15%)
