The Sherwin-Williams Company Library Services Co-Op in Cleveland, Ohio

This position provides support to the GSC library services team and the Global Innovation Scouting team (GIST), primarily in the deployment of information and library services to the GSC R&D community and assessment/study of best practices and library models of operation. Cataloging/creation and updating of metadata for technical R&D document collection Organization and update of library catalogs (including weeding, catalog entry updates, etc.) Library collection assessment and development, including costing of digital resources Maintaining the central online point of access for library resources shared across multiple divisions and work groups Conducting research on/creating recommendations for library models and/or best practices in creating and maintaining a unified online library environment serving geographically dispersed users, that enhances library awareness and self-sufficiency in use of resources, while encouraging liaison librarianship and the provision of necessary specialized technical assistance required by specific teams, divisions Assisting GIST with other internal data management and classification Organizing library training and awareness events, including events with subscription/content vendors Attendance at GIST meetings or library meetings with internal stakeholders as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION Required *Must have a HS diploma or GED *Must be currently pursuing or have received a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library and Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited institution *Must have a minimum 2.8 GPA Preferred *Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior class status KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Required *Must be available to work up to 16 hours per week for a total of 4 months during the fall semester *Access to local housing as well as reliable transportation *Must have experience with Microsoft Office 365 products such as Word, Excel, and/or Power Point, and SharePoint. *Must have some experience in cataloging or taxonomy creation/management. *Must have excellent communication skills, able to communicate both via email and through chat (i.e. Teams) and effectively demonstrate processes and provide instruction to both individuals and groups. *Must have copyright and fair use knowledge as it applies to libraries. *Must have aptitude for learning new technologies and/or metadata or cataloging procedures Preferred *A background or experience in or an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or the physical sciences is preferred.
