MetroHealth Student Unit Assistant- Trauma Step Down in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 16.00

Shift: 8a-2:30p/11a-7:30p/ 1p-11:30p (any 4-hr time blocks within these hours); No holidays, 1 weekend worked per 6-week schedule

Summary:

Under immediate supervision, delivers and assists with patient meal services, stocks supplies, transports patients, and performs messenger functions. Performs limited cleaning duties, including cleaning/restocking bedside equipment. Ensures compliance with all safety, sanitation, and quality control requirements associated with assigned responsibilities. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Actively enrolled in secondary school. Valid work permit for students under the age of 18 Able to read and write in English . Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. Electronic competency to enter and track meals through the facility. Ability to communicate well with patients and staff using verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient care information including protected health information. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred: Currently pursuing a HS diploma

Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance. Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
