The Thomas Hill Energy Center-Power Division has student laborer positions approved for 2024 for family members of current Thomas Hill Energy Center employees, who can provide proof of enrollment in, or who are returning to, a higher educational facility (e.g. university, college, or trade school) for the upcoming fall 2023 semester as a full-time student. Applicant selection to fill summer positions at the Thomas Hill plant will be determined by previous summer work experience at the plant, followed by the parent’s Thomas Hill Energy Center seniority will determine. Preference will also be given to dependent sons and daughters of our current employees.

Summer positions are created because there is a need for extra help at the plant in addition to providing a means of assistance, through wages paid, for the summer employees to further their education. As with any position, attendance and being on time is an important requirement. Student Laborers are eligible to start summer employment on either May 13th or May 20th, 2024.

Primary responsibilities could include the following:

  • Mowing and weed control on plant grounds

  • Painting

  • Cleaning

  • Manual work as assigned

Applications should:

  • Be at least 18 years old on the day they report to work.

  • Apply by February 29, 2024.

  • Attach documentation of current high school or college full time attendance. (e.g. current year high school or college transcript).

  • Attach documentation of enrollment or reenrollment for the fall 2022 semester (e.g. paid receipt from college, acceptance letter, class schedule, etc.). -If not available at the time of application, it must be provided to Human Resources before employment begins.
