Lab TechnicianJob Description

As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for conducting HPLC testing, preparing process and finished product samples, and performing analytical testing. You will record results into software programs, organize and prepare samples, and clean testing equipment and lab areas. Additionally, you will perform light maintenance and calibration on all laboratory equipment, organize, clean and schedule orders for lab equipment, and ensure that all systems are operating accurately by continually comparing equipment readouts with samples of standards.

Work Site

• This is a fully on-site position in CLINTON, IA.

• Associates of Science or Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry or related field preferred OR 1-2 years of relevant lab based experience

• Will need to be good with multi-tasking and running certain tests.

• Will be trained on site with HPLC, GC, and other scientific instrumentation.

• Must be familiar with moisture testing and pH testing prior to starting the position

Work Environment

This role involves working full-time in the lab conducting tests or assisting in a 16-month ethanol project which includes collecting and running ethanol samples. The position operates on a rotating shift, alternating between days and nights, and includes working every other weekend. Shifts are 12 hours long, rotating between 7 am-7 pm and 7 pm-7 am. The schedule follows a pattern of 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off. Initial training will be on a floating schedule that does not follow the typical pattern. This position has the potential to be a long-term contract.
