This position will primarily be required to work Wednesday through Sunday, and normally the days off will be Monday-Tuesday. Other workdays might arise as needed, these additional workdays might include special events, holidays, or coverage during a coworker's absence. Typically, 8 hours per day, for a 40-hour work week. This position will occasionally require travel and participation in meetings and trainings. Outdoor physical labor is required. Must be able to lift and move 301bs. Incumbent must be able to work outdoors under adverse weather conditions and irregular hours. Must be able to navigate stairs, steep slopes, rocky terrain, forest & brush environments, flat water and swift river water (including boats & docks); all while under possible inclement weather and uneven outdoor work environments. The incumbent must be in good overall physical condition to withstand the rigors and demands of outdoor work. The positions will begin in early May and will continue through September to best ensure that the park has adequate staffing on-site from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Job Duties: The incumbent will be adequately trained to perform all duties, including any specialized tasks, through our state and regional orientations, trainings, and on-site job reviews. The duties of this position will vary dependent upon conditions, but will generally be required to collect fees, conduct sales, operate ORMS (Online Reservation Management System), identify hazards and act on them accordingly, assist in park grounds upkeep and maintenance, clean latrines, clean and basic maintenance of comfort station/ shower facility, clean and maintain all individual campsites, assist in other routine park responsibilities as needed. _Minimum Qualifications:_ Graduation from high school or equivalent education. One year of college or vocational training experience in park and recreation management, interpretive visitor center, or closely related setting is preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required at time of application: General knowledge of basic customer service and safe work habits Ability to: educate and inform visitors on compliance with rules and regulations and State laws; collect fees and make change; sell merchandise and account for monies collected; read, maintain, and prepare records and reports; and assist visitors in emergency situations.
