Indium Corporation Research Chemist in Clinton, New York

JOB SUMMARY: The Research Chemist is responsible for performing applied research and development activities in and out of a lab environment; developing formulations of product-specific material, performing material testing, and product development ranging from initial phases to production/manufacturing development. The Research Chemist also provides technical service and application support to Indium sales and production staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):

• Design and implement product formulation studies for new products

• Develop product scale-up and manufacturing procedures and conduct training for appropriate employees

• Assist Production and Quality departments with manufacturing/quality issues

• Assist with new staff training and assist colleagues with R and D work

• Direct the activities of Research Technicians, participate in their growth and development, and provide feedback to their Supervisor regarding their success and learning

• Maintain high technical aptitude of application of Indium Corporation’s products

• Attend safety training classes and management of hazardous waste training as required and comply with all safety and hazardous waste requirements

• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry; Ph.D. in Chemistry preferred

• Familiarity with routine laboratory, analytical techniques and fundamentals of chemistry as applied to solutions and metals

• Ability to handle chemicals safely

• Strong project management skill

• Excellent organizational skills

WAGE DISCLOSURE:

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.

$67,500 - $97,000 annually
