Cold Spring Harbor Lab is hiring an Assistant Director. As part of the School's administrative team, the Assistant Director will manage and coordinate the curriculum, and assessment and outcomes reporting of the graduate program. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for the summer Undergraduate Research Program by liaising with CSHL faculty and administrative staff.

• Lead the student selection process for the summer Undergraduate Research Program, oversee the program;
• Coordinate courses and activities of the graduate curriculum;
• Advise undergraduate, postbaccalaureate and graduate students, and postdoctoral trainees on matters related to training programs, fellowship applications, career planning and development, and job searches;
• Coordinate on-campus and virtual events related to School activities;
• Collect and track data related to outcomes and placement of students and trainees, prepare reports for internal and external distribution summarizing such outcomes;
• Stay up to date with advances in undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral training

EDUCATION:

• PhD degree in a STEM field required

• Postdoctoral experience preferred

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and graphic arts software, such as PowerPoint and Adobe Illustrator;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills, high level of independent judgment and sensitivity;
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team;
• Rigorous attention to detail;
• Positive, forward-thinking, mission-oriented attitude a must;
• Demonstrated interest in educational outreach preferred.

The salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
