Insight Global Mechanical Field Inspector in College Park, Maryland

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Field Inspector to join one of our largest clients in the DMV area. Basic Day to day:

Using advanced knowledge of design and construction of mechanical and plumbing systems and construction management, performs inspection of new and renovated large-scale mechanical installations. Performs quality assurance inspection activities to ensure a quality capital construction project that complies with all state and local government codes including WSSC, OSHA, MOSHA, BOCA, ANSI, ASTM IMC, IPC ASME, SMACNA and all other codes applicable mechanical and plumbing design and construction. Review plans, specifications, and progress schedule, and coordinate all aspects of multiple large-scale construction projects. Perform reviews of design submittals for compliance with the DC/FS, code compliance and constructability issues. This candidate will also prepare and submit daily progress and field reports, identifying work inspected, interpretation of tests conducted and tests reports, and their results, findings, and recommendations for corrective and follow-up actions. Process contractor's submittals for review by Facilities Management's design teams. Perform acceptance inspections and manage project punch lists. Perform other duties as required which may include coordination of system shutdown and integration, coordination of mechanical aspects with architect/engineers, contractors, inspection and testing personnel, and technical and professional client project team members.

This is a hybrid role. Candidate must be driving distance to College Park, MD. This position is expected to pay between $40.00 - $50.00 an hour.

Skills and Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, or Architecture, or related field.

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant project construction experience with 4 (four) years in mechanical construction supervision/coordination and quality control. null
