About the Company: Robert Half is servicing a non-profit organization that is looking for a full time and permanent Payroll Accountant.

About the Role: Payroll Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely production of payroll for 400 employees. This person should have the ability to communicate effectively and deliver strong internal customer service while working in a deadline-driven environment. About the schedule: This job is fully remote outside of 1 day per month.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly payroll for parent company and 3 other entities, totaling 400 employees.

• Prepare bi-weekly journal entries for payroll, including journal entries for societies.

• Assist with all 3rd party filings including retirement contributions

• Responsible for maintenance of all time keeping systems and codes

• Review all tax filings processed by ADP.

• Prepare all account reconciliations related to payroll.

• Keep abreast of all legislation and regulatory rulings impacting payroll.

• Prepare and processes bi-weekly submissions for retirement contributions.

• Develop and maintain custom reports in ADP/WFN.

• Review payroll process and internal controls and make recommendations on process improvements

• Support annual salary and benefits budget

• Support annual retirement audit

• Be of help to staff with PTO accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits, general questions related to payroll, and other pay related issues

• Perform review of data entered by others in the payroll software to include, but not limited to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave

• Work with Information Technology, Human Resources, and other internal business partners to ensure security protocols for pay systems

• Oversee regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger

• Process all year-end activity and verifies accuracy of W-2’s prepared by ADP

  Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Accounting with 4 years of payroll experience or Associate's in Accounting with 10+ years of payroll experience

• Experience with ADP Workforce now

• Understanding of processing liens, garnishments, and various withholdings

• Experience with weekly and biweekly payrolls

• CPP or FPC preferred
