We make and supply medicines and vaccines all around the globe and our teams own every production stage, from creating quality products at our manufacturing sites to designing effective supply forecasting and regulatory inspections; all powered by digital, data and analytics. Job purpose: Global Supply Chain (GSC) Automation & ETS strategy and roadmap is key for the delivery of GSC's Smart Manufacturing initiative and ultimately the 2030 ambition. Creating a common and streamlined planning and governance framework for technology delivery by Automation and Tech organisations will drive simplification, create a competitive advantage, and accelerate the portfolio of technology solutions.

To drive successful execution and delivery, the Strategy deployment & governance Lead will lead the Automation & ETS team programme governance framework ensuring the initiation, planning, execution, and control of programmes is to the agreed GSK standard of excellence in project management.

Another strategic imperative of this role is to drive future workforce mapping (FWM) to define and implement the strategic capabilities required to discover, develop, deliver, and sustain automation technologies. This will be delivered in collaboration with Mfg Groups, HR, Tech and automation vendors. Key responsibilities: Facilitate and co-lead the development of the Automation & ETS Strategy with the Automation & ETS Teams and through cross-functional collaboration with Mfg Groups, Tech and GPS Facilitate the communication of the programme objectives, deployment timelines, resource requirements, and value delivered through routine governance meetings and through specific intent meetings Embed a Governance Framework that covers; Performance management, approval process, risk management, change management and timely decision making Drive a value centric mindset- Work with the team to develop our capability to estimate and forecast the value of DDA & Automation initiatives. Use this as a primary tool during decision making with business stakeholders Understand were GSK is going with the application of digital technology all through the end to end supply chain and ensure Automation & ETS Team is aligned and playing central role in achieving it Benchmark our Automation & ETS strategy against Industry trends (utilise the team's established network of contacts through ISPE, Gartner & other forums)- Bring back the intelligence into team to challenge and hone our plans Build stronger working partnerships with GPS, Tech, MSAT and Quality teams to remove siloed thinking and behaviours. Harness the senior level alignments established dur ng DAS workshops in 2021 and turn those into long term partnerships that will accelerate delivery Influence direction of project development utilizing data, scenario planning and insights to aid decision making Responsible for maintaining a focus on the end point delivery, the milestones to be adhered to through weekly project management discipline and the projection of a can-do attitude that builds pace & confidence Basic Qualifications: University Degree (Engineering or Technology related discipline) 5- 10 years of experience in Engineering roles directly supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging operations across multiple GSK sites Experience leading production operations on site Deep understanding of the operational environment and challenges (Primary, Secondary & Steriles) that GSK sites operate under Ability to take the insight and feedback gained from site end-users and translate that into tangible requirements to shape the Automation Strategy into solutions that will make a production floor difference Proven ability to lead cross-functional project teams across a wide range of technical, functional, and business disciplines Strong ability to think and act strategically and initiate and engage in long term planning To be able to operate independently and have good judgement when to seek guidance and support Ability to think and operate strategically but focussed on day-to-day delivery with an eye and view to the enterprise as well as the needs of the project Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Role demands experience and deep understanding of pharmaceutical facilities, supply chain networks, and their operational requirements. Underpinning capability in technical and/or project management required to be effective in role. Demonstration of academic achievement, ability to learn in a structured manner
