Job Summary

The business analyst is responsible for providing value to the business by analyzing and documenting business requirements, writing functional/technical specifications, and developing and executing test plans.

Primary Duties

Analyze and design simple business processes, or portions of core business processes to achieve desirable business results. Thoroughly document business requirement for effective communication to current and future business and technical contributors. Learn and utilize the Dorman SDLC, including: Appropriate analysis techniques for different project types Proper documentation techniques Work closely with developers and other technicians in translating application requirements into application architecture and the production of technical specifications. Work with business users asthe technology expertin well-defined scenarios to collaborate and achieve results. Work closely with vendors on various projects. Write functional specs that can be handed over to vendors for execution. Share knowledge and experience aggressively throughout the organization. Collaborate effectively. Manage customer expectations through effective communication. Develop basic project plans for small and medium projects. Manage small and medium projects involving few resources and short time frames. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Solid understanding of the fundamentals of technology architecture and different technology environments (Microsoft, Java, Progress, etc.). SQL skills desired. Prior project management experience desired. Basic understanding of technology landscape and how different technologies can be applied to business problems. Basic understanding of major business principles, processes and technologies. High capacity forteam work.Followsinstructions well. Contributes ideas and leadership in team situations. Ability to work with others to arrive at consensus. Physical Requirement: Capability to lift20pounds. Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen.Noiselevel is usually moderate.

Education / Experience

Associate's Degreerequired in Information Systems, Computer Science or aclosely related discipline. One - two years equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
