Lockheed Martin Global Software Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Description: Title of position: Entry Level- Experienced Global Software Engineer- On-site

What We’re Doing

Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Global team, is engineering, developing and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team, as a whole, is very large but is broken down into many smaller agile teams that work together in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Our team is also responsible for tasks such as Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security and enhancing other critical, leading-edge missile defense technologies.

The Work

In this incredibly important role you will be:

- Providing in-depth analysis and technical support of a large, distributed system written in Java

- Performing complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user-support for a large code baseline

- Assisting with design, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation

- Interfacing with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards and improve overall efficiency of the system

- Designing, coding, testing and implementing tools for automation

Please Note:

• This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

• This position will involve around 10% travel to our customer sites throughout the U.S.

Basic Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

- Java experience

- Ability to be cleared at TS/SCI clearance level. Secret is required prior to start.

- Knowledge of software practices and coding standards

- Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root cause, recommend and develop a solution

Desired Skills:

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience working as part of an Agile team

- Familiarity with Java Spring

- Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker/Kubernetes

- Knowledge of server side development and message passing

- Experience developing enterprise applications

- Good working knowledge of MS Office products

- Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking

- Use of common software development and management tools such as git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven, or Gradle and Eclipse

- Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and UML diagrams

Experience in some or all of the following areas is desired:

- Command and control system application development

- Previous experience with message translation software

- Automated test and pipeline development experience

- Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms

- Experience with Software Integration testing including developing automated test scripts

- Experience with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify mitigation

- Prior experience designing and developing microservices and deploying with containers; experience setting up a container environment

- Effective oral and written communication skills

- Ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $70,500 - $135,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
