Lockheed Martin Systems Architect in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Description: Candidate will serve as one of the systems Architects on the Command and Control Battle Management Communications (C2BMC) program, to include conducting analysis, making architectural decisions and updating the C2BMC system architecture in compliance with requirements. The candidate will also perform the following tasks:

- Review cyber, software, and network designs for compliance and alignment with architecture.

- Generate engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews.

- Develop program system architecture capability and capacity through mentorship of more junior staff.

Candidate needs to have the ability to be flexible to support various tasking on short notice. Work will be performed under the direction of various technical leads and product owners and require interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available. Responsibilities include adhering to program review processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working level counterparts on an as-required basis. Candidate will be responsible for driving value delivery for the infrastructure of a complex missile defense command and control system. The candidate will perform the following tasks:

- Specify stakeholder needs to drive the frequent delivery of value to the customer

- Coordinate and prioritize needs for multiple Task Orders across multiple Product Teams

- Contribute to the overall C2BMC Program Roadmap

- Assess progress and report status to Leadership

- Act as the technical interface with the Government

- Manage stakeholder expectations

- Work with other Product Teams to plan and execute C2BMC releases

- Interface with the Run Ahead, System Architecture and Technical Leadership Teams and communicate priorities to the Product Team

- Support preparation and presentation of briefings and demonstrations to customer.

Basic Qualifications:

- Ability to exploit an architecture background to assist in the definition of system capabilities and analysis and assessment of development, test, information assurance, and network architectures

- Ability for architecture of C2 software systems in an environment that leverages existing or COTS/GOTS components with DoD interoperability

- Ability to identify and define desired capabilities

- Communication skills in relating desired capabilities to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users

- Ability to generate system level architecture artifacts to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities

- Architecture development and coordination skills, to include: defining the relationships between internal and external components; communicating architectural intent and constraints to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users

- Skills generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities

- Extensive knowledge in writing proposals, earned value management techniques and reporting, resource planning of BOEs and familiarization of genBOE

Desired Skills:

- System engineering/system architecture experience in designing and developing new architectures and integrating existing architectures. Experience should include specific roles in developing architecture artifacts

- Candidate should have demonstrated experience in mission analysis with skill in architecture development and SysML modeling in support of MBSE.

- Experience and understanding of Earned Value Management in a software development environment

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $128,900 - $247,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
