Oracle Biomedical Equipment Technician - ONSITE in Columbia, Missouri

Job Description

As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support to medical equipment users and managing medical equipment maintenance, calibration, and service onsite at University of Missouri Hospital.

You will provide technical support to medical equipment users, troubleshoot to determine the cause of the problem, and record results, identifying changes in test methods or equipment as needed for medical equipment testing. As a member of this team, you will take routine and accurate measurements of medical equipment performance, maintain and calibrate medical equipment to industry standards, and perform preventative maintenance on assigned medical equipment. You will also be responsible for performing safety inspections and initiating any necessary repairs or service to general electronic and low-to-medium-risk medical equipment.

Basic Qualifications

At least 4 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education including:

At least 1 year of customer service, call center, hospitality, and/or technical support work experience

At least 3 years of higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job including:

Associates degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

At least 1 year of clinical or health care work experience

Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (CBET) - AAMI Credentials Institute (ACI)

Basic electronics training from a junior college, military, or trade school, or graduation from a Biomedical Technologist program that includes medical equipment training

Expectations

Must reside in or around the Columbia, MO area

Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs (i.e. equipment)

Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations

Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position

Responsibilities

You will provide technical support to medical equipment users, troubleshoot to determine the cause of the problem, and record results, identifying changes in test methods or equipment as needed for medical equipment testing. As a member of this team, you will take routine and accurate measurements of medical equipment performance, maintain and calibrate medical equipment to industry standards, and perform preventative maintenance on assigned medical equipment. You will also be responsible for performing safety inspections and initiating any necessary repairs or service to general electronic and low-to-medium-risk medical equipment. Detailed equipment history shall be recorded using a computerized equipment database.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $18.13 to $34.66 per hour; from $37,700 to $72,100 per annum.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
