Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and growth-oriented person to join our team as the Sr. Java Developer - Enterprise Edition. The ideal candidate must have: Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field. Minimum of Five years of strong experience in Java programming and enterprise application development. Proficiency in cloud computing platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solid understanding of software development methodologies and best practices, including Agile methodologies. Experience developing applications that interact with hardware devices and sensors. Using the following tools: Languages: Java, JSF, Javascript, HTML, CSS (light), SQL, Bash script. Technologies: Java EE, Object Oriented Dev, Relational DB, Networking, Serial Communication, Java Tech (JSF, JPA, XML, Json, Mail, Security (Shiro), CDI, EJB, REST), jOOQ DB Access, Wildfly / JBoss IDE - (integrated development environment): Eclipse, Intellij IDEA. Version Control: Git. Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, and containerization technologies Strong knowledge of data management and storage technologies, such as SQL and NoSQL databases. Familiarity with API design principles. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex software systems. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proven ability to deliver high-quality code on time and meet project deadlines. We don't cut corners because what we do s ves lives. Key Responsibilities: The position is full-time with flexible hours. Overnight and out-state travel may be required but infrequently. Position is exempt and reports directly to the CTO and will have one direct report. Job Summary Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop advanced traffic safety solutions using Java and related technologies. Create efficient and scalable software applications that interact with hardware devices and interface with cloud-based systems. Develop, test, and deploy high-quality code for real-time monitoring, data analysis, and predictive modeling of work zone safety. Work closely with stakeholders, including product managers and hardware engineers, to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration practices. Investigate and resolve software defects and performance issues to optimize application performance and reliability. Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices related to cloud-based application development and hardware integration. Other duties as assigned.
