Weyerhaeuser Administrative Coordinator in Columbus, Mississippi

The Administrative Coordinator will be part of the Mississippi Alabama (MSAL) Region Team within Southern Timberlands and reports to the Columbus Area Manager. The role is a full-time, salaried non-exempt position located in Columbus, MS supporting a team consisting of approximately 25 professionals. Some overnight travel may be required for off-site meetings (less than 5%). Some remote work flexibility will be allowed but regular office attendance will be required.

Key Functions

As an Administrative Coordinator, you will provide administrative support to the MSAL Columbus Area team as well as directly support the Area Manager to help facilitate and ensure safe and efficient operations. Other responsibilities include:

  • Role model safety and support the administrative duties for the region health and safety program and Weyerhaeuser’s audit process
  • Serve as the site contact for a variety of employees, outside agencies, contractors and general public
  • Support the staff by being the site contact for contracted services and building maintenance
  • Administer and coordinate shipping/receiving parcels and mail, maintain general office and forestry supplies, and help with scheduling/meeting preparation (room reservations, meals, and logistics)
  • Company Vehicle Fleet Administration as well as responsibility for Pool Vehicles at respective office (Oil Changes, Car Washes, etc.)
  • Greet and direct office visitors including leading office safety orientation
  • Participate on project teams and/or provide back up and support to work on special projects or other duties as assigned
  • Work as a team with other Administrative Coordinators to flow assigned work between areas to support the MSAL Region objectives as needed

  • High School diploma/GED (or higher) with at least three years of related experience-5 or more preferred.

  • Associates Degree (or higher) in Business or related field strongly preferred
  • Energetic and positive with a desire to learn
  • Detailed oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Desire to provide superior customer service
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (e-mail & scheduling), MS Teams, and MS SharePoint with the desire and ability to learn company-specific programs
  • Strong desire to work effectively in a team environment and learn the overall business
  • Great organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Proactive with a strong work ethic
  • Possess a high degree of initiative and commitment to “flow to work” as business priorities necessitate
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve issues with minimal direction
  • Contract administration experience desirable

What We Offer

Compensation:This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $48,175 - $72,193 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement:Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation:We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
