The Sherwin-Williams Company Maintenance Mechanic II - Nights in Columbus, Ohio

The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing and correcting equipment breakdowns and facility maintenance as required to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. This position also performs mechanical repairs, and preventative maintenance to ensure the ongoing integrity and reliability of equipment in order to keep the plant operating safely and efficiently. Additional Information: Night Shift, 6:00 PM - 6:00AM on rotating continuous operations schedule (36/48 hour work week) $1.00 Shift premium for all hours worked on Night Shift * Perform PMs, repairs, rebuilds, and modifications on building systems, production equipment, and warehouse equipment. * Perform all necessary inspections, adjustments and replacement of parts while performing scheduled PM * Operate shop tools and equipment as skill level will permit * Assists in electrical projects and performs minor electrical repairs * Experience with basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory. * Able to read basic drawings and schematic diagrams. * Operates and maintains auxiliary systems such as solvent still, dust collector and thermal oxidizer. * Maintains and services a range of building systems such as lighting, compressed air, Nitrogen generation, water and sewer, etc. * Assists in the installation of new plant equipment * Key member of the Fire Response Team. * Assists other departments as needed * Must be able to work 12-hours a day schedule. * Knows and willingly practices all safety rules and procedures and participates in the plant safety program including the wearing of appropriate safety apparel. * Must be able to work overtime as required, with or without reasonable accommodation. * Must be certified by the Company to operate forklift and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. * Perform all job duties as assigned and directed by supervision or management that may not be listed on this job description. * Perform housekeeping duties as assigned and keeps area and equipment clean. * Properly handle hazardous waste as part of manufacturing operations, maintenance, raw material handling, and clean-up activities, in order to protect personnel, property and the environment. * Follow all EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) regulations and guidelines, including RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act). * Maintain ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 certifications. * This position will also be classified as a "Hazardous Waste Handler". Refer to the EHS office for specific training and descriptions. * If designated to handle Hazardous Waste 90-day accumulation area, then additional training will be required: DOT HazMat 126F. Minimum Requirements: Must be 18 years of age Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment visa status Must have four (4) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment Preferred Qualifications: Have at least five (5) or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment Have at least an industrial, electrical, and/or welding certification or license Have at least one (1) year of maintenance experience applying electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic concepts Have at least formal training in or at least one (1) year of work experience implementing Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) Have at least two (2) years experience working in Electro-Mechanical Maintenance programs including industrial equipment preventative maintenance and repair Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusion and Diversity Supportive Employer.
