Burgess & Niple, Inc. Planner in Columbus, Ohio

Ready to make an impact on your career, client projects and the community? Burgess & Niple is currently seeking an experienced* Urban/Land Use Planner *to join our Columbus, OH office.

B&N Urban/Land Use Planner Responsibilities:

  • Develop and facilitate planning processes for complex plans and projects such as comprehensive, neighborhood, corridor, strategic, and regional plans
  • Schedule and conduct meetings with stakeholders, advisory committees, the public, and elected officials
  • Leads teams to conduct research and analysis and prepares reports
  • Provide guidance and review of the work of other planning staff
  • Conduct and analyze field studies and surveys to collect data for planning purposes
  • Leads facilitation of meetings and workshops with clients, stakeholders, and the public
  • Responsible for development and communication of final planning documents in GIS, Adobe Suite, including InDesign and Illustrator.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation, Geography (urban or transportation), or Economics and four years' directly applicable experience. Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in related field and six years' experience in Urban, Land Use Planning will be considered
  • Certification by American Institute of Certified Planners preferred
  • Proven verbal, presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and ArcGIS, and Adobe Creative Suite. Proficiency with SketchUp a plus.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
