Compensation: $72,000-$82,000 Work Schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday, with up to two days per week remote work opportunities. General Summary: Under the direction of the assistant director, Recipient Benefits Processing, supervise the benefit administration associated with recipient post-retirement processing functions. Manage and oversee the day-to-day workflow in the area. Summary of Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the day-to-day work product of post-retirement benefits to ensure State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS Ohio) performance standards are met. Compile statistical data to measure accuracy and efficiency of the performance of individual team members and the team and make appropriate adjustments. Manage, resolve complex and escalated problems with members and other internal departments and external entities using the Ohio Revised Code, Ohio Administrative Code, Defined Contribution Plan Document, team procedures and other available resources. Provide potential solutions based on research to management when appropriate. Participate in the performance management process including goal setting, performance reviews and career development for team. Coach, lead and mentor associates that results in increased efficiency, productivity and a highly motivated team with the ability to readily adapt to process, legislative, technology and other changes. Lead the team through process evaluations, identify process improvements, make recommendations and implement approved process recommendations. Summary of Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related field required. Three to five years STRS Ohio benefits processing experience or equivalent required. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail required. Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively in sensitive and confidential issues by telephone, in writing, and in facetoface contacts with the public and with associates required.
