Job Summary

Battelle’s Defense & Material Solutions business line is seeking a Test Engineer with experience with the Test Resource Management Center (TRMC) and the Joint Mission Environment Testing Capability’s (JMETC), and the Test & Training Enabling Architecture (TENA). This position is contingent on program award.

As the Battelle JMETC test engineer, you will be instrumental in supporting the Joint Mission Environment Testing Capability (JMETC) and the Test & Training Enabling Architecture (TENA), focusing on enhancing interoperability and efficiency in DoD test and training systems. You will be responsible for overseeing the user support lead for the TENA Software Development Activity. You will collaborate with JMETC stakeholders and DOD test ranges to identify TENA requirements for scheduled test events. You will also oversee the standardization of interfaces and data formats of TENA software tools to allow for the reuse of JMETC software and hardware components across different DOD test and training systems to reduces costs, speed up the development and deployment of new capabilities for JMETC and increase interoperability and readiness across the JMETC architecture.

The desired position location is client site in Alexandria, VA or from other Battelle and Client Offices within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of complex test plans using JMETC and TENA frameworks to ensure system interoperability and performance.

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate various test and training systems under the TENA guidelines.

  • Develop and implement strategies for real-time data sharing and system scalability within JMETC networks.

  • Conduct detailed analysis of test results, identify system vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements.

  • Provide technical leadership in the deployment of advanced testing technologies and methodologies.

  • Mentor junior engineers and support staff in best practices for defense testing and evaluation.

  • Manage documentation and reporting of test procedures, outcomes, and system updates.

  • Stay abreast of advancements in testing technologies and DoD testing requirements to ensure state-of-the-art practices.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in test engineering, preferably in a defense environment.

  • Extensive knowledge of JMETC and TENA systems and their applications in military testing.

  • Proven track record of managing complex testing projects and delivering actionable insights.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in test management software.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to handle classified information and adhere to government security protocols.

  • Active TS-SCI Clearance with ability to obtain SI/TK/G/HCS Controls and Special Access Programs and Special Access Required (SAP/SAR)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with live-virtual-constructive, augmented reality, and distributed interactive simulations in a joint testing environment.

  • International Test And Evaluation Association Certified Test & Evaluation Professional
