Lilly Health, Safety, Environmental Associate in Concord, North Carolina

Responsibilities:

The Health, Safety and Environmental associate works with a team of safety professionals to develop and implement technical and cultural programs. This position will focus mainly on health and safety programs, although there may be some overlap into environmental systems as time progresses.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Engage site resources in achieving a positive safety culture.

  • Partner with Global Facilities Delivery (GFD), construction and design build firms and more broadly the project team to ensure smooth transition handoff from construction to start up.

  • Partner with Corporate HSE to develop, establish, and sustain HSE systems, processes, and programs and best practices for the Concord site ensure compliance with internal and external requirements and provide ongoing technical support.

  • Implement and maintain HSE systems in support of the sites’ goals

  • Understand and support HSE event investigations, CAPA and change control processes, and influence application of the hierarchy of controls to reduce risk, driving toward site and company goals to achieve an injury free workplace

  • Provide floor support to multiple operations (this includes auditing, data collection, trending, and supporting local safety teams)

  • Leverage knowledge of severe injury risk to influence minimization of potential events and increase awareness / knowledge among site resources

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Scientific, Engineering, Environmental or HSE discipline

  • At least 1 year of HSE experience in an industrial environment, working full time.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Experience with emergency response.

  • Practical hands on experience with high hazard work, such as fall protection, confined space entry, chemical handling, lockout tagout, or line breaking.

  • GMP operational experience

Additional Information:

  • Schedule - 8 hour days - Monday through Friday. Must be flexible in providing support to accommodate other inputs (project activities, production schedules, shutdowns, etc.). Occasional extended hour and / or off-hour work may be required
