Frontage Laboratories, Inc. Electrophysiology Technician in Concord Township, Ohio
Lab Technician -- (Electrophysiology)
This position will provide technical support for performing standard nonclinical patch-clamp electrophysiology assays to include, but not limited to cell-based assays, biochemical assays, molecular biology, in-vitro pharmacology, as well as other in vitro-related activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform experimental work using manual patch-clamp electrophysiology technique for drug screening per standard SOPs
- Assist in developing experimental methods using manual patch-clamp electrophysiology
- Maintain cell lines, perform routine cell culture activities and basic molecular biology techniques
- Follow protocols and SOPs to perform assigned tasks
- Organize and conduct work assignments in a safe and timely manner
- Perform routine lab operations in a neat, clean, and organized manner
- Performing standard nonclinical safety testing protocols according to GLP guidelines.
- Accurately record observations and document results in accordance with GLP guideline and departmental SOPs
- Perform data analysis and maintain study records
- Recognize problems that impede completion of work according to study protocols
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-motivated, ability to pay attention to details and work according to the provided instructions, protocols, SOPs
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and equipment
- Basic math and chemistry skills to perform routine calculations
The ideal candidate will be a motivated team player with excellent writing and oral communication skills, and strong problem-solving capabilities. Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is a plus but not required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in biology, biophysics, microbiology, chemistry or other related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
