Position Summary
The Office of Education Abroad is in search of a peer advisor to\ join our team. The primary responsibilities of this position include\ meeting with students considering study abroad and study away\ programs, participating in campus outreach activities and events,\ and assisting with other daily office tasks, as needed.\ We are in search of a student who is available to work during\ some or all of the following times:
Mon., Wed., Fri. 8 am to 12 pm
Tues. 12 pm to 4:30 pm
Thurs. 12 pm to 2 pm
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The peer advisor will:
Help plan and execute on-campus events, info-meetings\ and classroom visits
Network with student organizations to increase\ awareness of study abroad and study away on campus\ and plan outreach strategies to these organizations
Host virtual and in-person meetings with individual\ students interested in study abroad programs
Stay informed of changes in program offerings and\ details in order to assist interested students
Attend and assist with events such as program interest\ meetings, program orientations and other outreach\ events
Contribute to a positive work environment by welcoming\ all people who visit the Office of Education Abroad
Complete office tasks including filing documents,\ answering the phone and responding to emails
Post to social media and update the website as assigned
Preferred Education and/or Experience
Previous Study Abroad or Study Away experience is highly\ desired for applicants to this position.\ Experience with WordPress and Canva desired.
