Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Victim Advocate {#domestic-violence-and-sexual-assault-victim-advocate dir="ltr"}

::: {dir="ltr"} Starting Point is seeking a full-time (32-40 hours a week) Advocate. Duties include providing crisis intervention and follow-up support to victims of domestic and sexual violence. The successful applicant could work in our Ossipee office, Conway office, or emergency shelter and does include a week-long shift on rotation with other staff members on the 24/7/365 support line. Number of hours per week and primary work location are negotiable.

Bachelors degree in a human service related field or two years of experience providing domestic violence direct services in a volunteer-based program required. Position requires a valid drivers license, proof of adequate auto insurance, and completion of criminal and motor vehicle records checks.

Starting Point: Services for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence located in the White Mountains of NH, is a non-profit agency providing services to victims of domestic and sexual violence, including human trafficking in Carroll County, NH. It is the only domestic violence shelter in Carroll County, and one of only 11 domestic violence shelters in the entire state. Starting Point often receives clients outside its catchment area when the victims are not safe in their local shelters, or when other shelters are full and victims are in imminent danger. Since its inception in 1981, Starting Point has served an average of 600 clients each year. With advocacy, Starting Points clients are able to develop a network of supports and the skills and finances to live independently and transition to a life without violence.
