Senior Finance Manager Retail

An excellent opportunity has come up to lead the Retail Studio Central Planning Finance Team

(DPECP – Disney Parks Entertainment Consumer Entertainment).

This is a maternity cover for 9 months, starting in February 2019, with the possibility of extension and can be based in either our Stockholm or Copenhagen office, and will include travel between our Nordic offices.

The role would have overall responsibility for the financial planning, reporting and analysis for mainly DCP (Disney Consumer Products) in Nordics. The key element to this position is partnering with the business (from a finance business partner perspective), with the primary areas of focus being forecast and planning, commercial finance support, developing and articulating strategy to grow the business and to maximise long-term profitability.

The position of Senior Finance Manager (Retail/Consumer Products) will play an active role in the Nordic Finance Management team, mainly the DCP Leadership team, providing commercial financial expertise and guidance, be a Key Finance Partner to the CFO and Head of Retail (UK&Nordic + Nordic).

Areas of Responsibility

Commercial Finance Support for mainly DCP and CFO

  • Partners DCP Leadership team to develop planning & processes to deliver the short and long term strategic retail objectives.

  • Provides relevant financial support to CFO for the DCP business areas and their operations, including driving projects to improve the retail segment in Nordics.

  • Expert knowledge of the retail market.

Forecasting and Planning

  • Overall responsibility for delivering all planning and reporting within the financial reporting cycle to specified timetables and prescribed formats (Forecasts, Budget, Five Year Plan)

  • Provides stretching but achievable targets for revenue and costs for DCP

  • Ensure all relevant systems etc. are updated with correct planning and reporting information in line with guidelines from regional office.

Financial management

  • Business partner to operational teams, providing financial and commercial support to maintain a streamlined operation and ensure best return from investment

  • Identifies and manages the business’ risks and opportunities to deliver financial targets

  • Provides timely information to the Head of Retail, DCP lead team and Nordic CFO

  • Reviews processes, procedures and systems within the Finance function to ensure accuracy, consistency and effectiveness

  • Co-ordinates with Accounting and Controllership to support the Quarterly Close process

Development of Retail Finance team

  • Manages, leads and develops the Finance team

  • Oversees professional and personal development of finance team through objective-setting and appraisal process and regular feedback

  • Coordinates Finance activity within the team, planning and prioritising workloads in line with business objectives

Other

  • Active member of the TWDC Nordic Financial Management Team (FMT), collectively responsible for improving coordination across the Nordic business, developing streamlined processes and delivering x-LOB projects

  • Overcomes the geographical separation to the Copenhagen based DCP team through regular, frequent contact and travel when necessary designed to build effective working relationships

  • Preparation of ad hoc presentations for senior management

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required

  • Degree Qualified or equivalent qualification or experience preferred

  • Experience from retail highly desirable and preferably from FMCG company

  • Experience in similar/relevant Finance roles
