Unilever Associate Manager, Process Safety in Covington, Tennessee

Background & Purpose of the Job

They will assist/advise/coach Site Process Management Personnels (Refrigeration, Ammonia Management, Utility Personnels etc.) and Site Leaders, manage the process safety programs, conduct regular site audits following Unilever guidelines, support resulting site action plans coming from any internal and external audit points, oversee management of change, deliver process safety training, oversee deployment of the PSM Standards.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

  • Deploy the global process safety management improvement program to raise process safety management capability on site that store, handle or use hazardous materials or operate hazardous processes.

  • Lead PSM Pillar following UMS guideline and regional and global standards.

  • Manage technical visits of experts, internal and external auditors and support the resulting site actions plans in order to raise process safety performance and reduce corporate risk of a major incident.

  • Support and advise Cluster and Site Leadership teams so that they may manage process safety in a more effective way.

  • Ensure internal communications and consultation, including good practice sharing to raise manufacturing site process safety performance.

  • Facilitate technical support from global resources like SEAC/Category Teams/UEnS to ensure that sites receive the best technical advice and guidance.

  • Participate in process safety incident investigations where needed to ensure good quality reporting and sharing of learning.

  • Deliver and / or facilitate specific process safety management training on site to raise capability, according to the identified gaps from SHE skill assessments and SHE PAR compliance plans.

  • Actively contribute to the proposed new Global Process Safety Network, lead by the Group/Regional Process Safety Manager, and any related Communities of Practice in order to deploy an effective and efficient improvement program in a given geographic location.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering related discipline, Chemical or Process engineering is strongly preferred

  • At least 2 years supporting Process Safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Strong engineering background with significant achievements in safety, health & environment

  • Proven track record of analytical thinking and project management

  • Ability to support development of others and deliver more formal training material

  • Working knowledge of Process Safety and of audit procedures

  • Influencing skills and international business/cultural sensitivity

Pay: The pay range for this position is $84,400 to $126,600. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
