Overview

PROJECT MANAGER (JXM 2024-20686):

Bowhead is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in supporting a contract at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division. This contract will support the Special Warfare and Expeditionary Systems Division, Power and Energy Systems (JXM). JXM provides engineering and logistics support for electrochemical power systems, electronic interconnect products and multiple energy system alternatives. The candidate selected for this position will support JXM’s systems to include but not limited to; various large format battery systems, circuit board and wiring assembly systems, software loader-program, and various miniature and microminiature electronic test and repair.

Responsibilities

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Explains policies, purpose and goals of the contractor's organization to subordinates

  • Formulates and reviews strategic plans and deliverable items, determines contract costs and ensures conformance with standards

  • Actively assures the implementation and compliance of the Quality Assurance Plan

  • Engages in regular face-to-face meetings with the COR, and provide required reports and documentation to the COR in a timely manner

  • Overall planning, direction and success of major Projects, systems development efforts, and research or technology initiatives which have great significance to the activity’s and agency’s needs.

  • Being accountable to oversee results of multi-functional project teams that include Engineering Technicians, Technical Writers, Data Analysts, Logisticians and Engineers.

  • Monitors project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.

  • Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.

  • May conduct performance and project analyses during phase-down to benefit future/other projects, missions or Projects.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Bowhead personnel in the JXM Division will provide support services areas of research and development; system/software/safety engineering, analysis, design, test and evaluation; prototyping, preproduction and fabrication; reliability and maintainability; logistics and configuration management; quality assurance; in-service engineering and field service; material handling, maintenance and repair, and inventory management services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience and certifications

  • Experience in validating technical and financial reports, analyzing metrics and identifying areas for improvement

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred

  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts

  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and good judgment

  • Prior experience supporting NSWC Crane is preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
