Job Summary

• The Nutrition Assistant provides quality, regular and therapeutically correct, customer meals/snacks through menu and texture modifications according to diet prescription.

• Provides exceptional service to patients, residents, guests and fellow employees at all times.

• Works somewhat independently using organizing, monitoring and comprehensive customer service skills. Supports the hospital’s goal of excellence in patient care in a Christian, caring environment by facilitating positive employee relations and supporting department goals.

• Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship.

• Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

• Two years food service related experience and/or training preferred.

• Serve Safe certification preferred.

• Intermediate food handling and sanitation skills.

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of therapeutic diets.

Work Schedule

• Day/Evening Shifts: 5:30am-2:00pm, 6:00am-2:30pm, 1:30pm-8:00pm, 11:00am-8:00pm; 80 hours every 2 weeks

• Every other weekend

• Every other holiday

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $17.50 - $21.25 per hour
