Robert Half Medical Billing Specialist in Crown Point, Indiana

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in the healthcare industry, based in CROWN POINT, Indiana. The role focuses on the monitoring and administration of accounts receivable across multiple medical practices, with a particular emphasis on physician billing.

Responsibilities include:

• Accurately processing customer credit applications in a timely manner

• Maintaining precise records of customer credit

• Swiftly resolving customer credit inquiries

• Monitoring customer credit accounts closely

• Taking appropriate action to collect delinquent payments

• Using an analytical approach to monitor activities for each medical provider

• Handling billing functions with a focus on physician billing, including for surgeons

• Administering claims in line with industry standards

• Implementing effective collection processes for overdue payments

• Utilizing knowledge of physician billing to support the financial health of the practices. Requirements • Prior experience of at least 2 years as a Medical Billing Specialist in a healthcare or NHS setting is necessary.

• Proficiency in handling billing functions including preparing invoices, submitting bills, and maintaining billing records.

• Demonstrated ability to administer claims, including filing, tracking, and ensuring timely settlement.

• Familiarity with collection processes and ability to follow up with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers for unpaid bills.

• Knowledge of physician billing practices and ability to manage the same effectively.

• Strong analytical skills to review and audit medical bills and claims.

• Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in billing and claim administration tasks.

• Excellent communication skills to liaise with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.

• Proficiency in using medical billing software and other relevant tools.

• Familiarity with medical codes, terms, and procedures.

• Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance standards related to medical billing.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information.

• Willingness to stay updated with changes in billing regulations and healthcare policies.

• Relevant certification or training in medical billing would be advantageous.
