Copeland Human Resources Generalist II in Cudahy, Wisconsin

If you are a Human Resources professional looking to grow, Copeland has an opportunity for you! Based in our Cudahy, WI location, the Human Resources Generalist II will provide leadership, direction and support across the production workforce to ensure human resources policies and practices for the business are thoroughly and consistently applied. This includes coaching and counseling team members on company policies and practices, conducting investigations of employee concerns and ethics issues, recruiting for entry level, technical, and skilled trades job openings, and maintaining the Human Resources information system.

In this Role, You Will:

  • Build positive relationships with management and employees to act as a vital resource and mentor on navigating policy and recommending resolutions that balance the needs of our people and the company.

  • Support compliance with current labor contract and build partnership with Union officials by watching over day-to-day implementation of policies and procedures to ensure fairness and consistency.

  • Conduct timely, detailed, and objective investigations of employee concerns and ethics issues as they arise.

  • Represent management in investigating, answering, and resolving grievances by arranging and scheduling grievance hearings between Union representatives, Supervisors and Management.

  • Grow our workforce by recruiting, interviewing and screening job applicants to fill skilled trades job openings.

  • Analyze and maintain data in the Human Resources Information System (Oracle) for operations and production team members.

  • Track and update hourly employee compensation within Oracle per the union contract and audit attendance in Kronos as needed.

  • Promote employee recognition in our web-based Employee Recognition Program (Energize) by posting the Employee of the Month and providing local training and encouraging use across all departments.

  • Conduct and improve on new hire orientation and onboarding to set expectations and support employee success and retention.

  • Drive Employee Engagement programs by taking part in planning employee events and facilitating training as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or other related field/equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years HR experience, including employee relations

  • Experience in a union environment

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and professional presentation skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and use of HRIS

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Experience with Oracle or Workday

  • Experience recruiting for manufacturing skilled trades positions

Schedule

The facility works 24 hours a day and typically 5 days a week. Our core office hours range anywhere between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and are flexible given we work together to best support business demands as well as the needs of our customers around the world.
