Introduction:

Programme & Project Partners (PPP) will provide project and program management support to deliver numerous major construction projects associated with developing the infrastructure required for the reprocessing and making safe of nuclear waste material at Sellafield Nuclear Site in West Cumbria, United Kingdom.

PPP was formed with an integrated team for a 20 year programme duration. The PPP partnership is comprised of a: Integration Partner (Lot 1), Engineering & Design Partner (Lot 2), Civil Construction Partner (Lot 3), Process Construction Partner (Lot 4), and Sellafield as the 5th Partner.

PPP require a Commercial Manager to provide support to numerous projects in the pre construction phase.

Role:

Primarily reporting to a Project Director and providing daily support and guidance on all project commercial matters. Responsible for the commercial project deliverables stream for a project or numerous projects within the PPP structure.

Functionally part of the PPP Commercial Team, lead by the PPP Commercial Director, the role will require interface with multiple stakeholders across the programme ensuring alignment to PPP commercial governance (reporting, processes, practices, procedures).

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to -

  • Ensure contract compliance and consolidate and coordinate that information as advice to Project Director

  • Management of the commercial project team and ensuring they perform to the required standards and expectations

  • Responsible for maintaining the standards, requirements and procedures for project commercial activities

  • Accountability for all project internal and external commercial reporting

  • Developing and agreeing T&Cs for subcontractors

  • Delivery of internal and external commercial targets

  • Ensures the quality, timeliness and consistency of work produced by the team

  • Ensure the accuracy of data communicated and reported to all stakeholders

  • The highlighting of any current and potential issues to the Project Director

  • Maintain compliance with approved processes procedures and plans

  • The active contribution to continuous improvement of the functional quality and performance of Quantity Surveying

  • To work in compliance with the Collaborative Management Plan

Experience Skills and Knowledge:

  • Extensive experience of the management of a project commercial team

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of management of terms and conditions of contract e.g. NEC3, JCT and bespoke

  • Experience or knowledge of the pre construction elements of the Project Lifecycle (incl. the business case stage process of SOC,OBC, FBC)

  • Experience in the nuclear industry or other regulated industry preferred

  • Experience of managing project teams and working collaboratively

  • Excellent communicator, leader and team builder

  • Chartered member to a recognised organisation (RICS or CIOB) an advantage

  • Capable of obtaining (or currently holds) UK Nuclear industry clearance

  • Ability to report and present to senior management on all aspect of commercial and operational activities.
