Our team seeks someone with a true passion for photography and videography, aiming to ship amazing product experiences to millions of people. The Image Quality Qualification team is searching for a candidate with strong skills in photography, videography, or image science and a passion for learning more. Apple's camera solution is complex, but we will provide the additional skills you need to succeed. You will play a key role in driving photo and video image quality, shaping the future of Apple's cameras.

Description

We are looking for a teammate dedicated to understanding, building, and enabling innovative camera features. You will contribute directly to various camera technologies, such as Portrait mode, new video features, and new photo capture methodologies. Your role will involve active participation in quality evaluations for new features and algorithms through experimental studies in the lab and in the field. You will provide direct feedback to the engineering teams. You'll be a critical part of a fast-paced, collaborative team that thrives in a high-energy environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Art, and Film.

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience in capturing, displaying, analyzing, and editing photos using tools like Lightroom, Apple Photos, and Photoshop.

  • Strong understanding of how to test image quality characteristics in the field.

  • Familiarity with the history of image development and the ability to form opinions on future aesthetic trends.

  • Excellent sense of photography, videography, and cinematography on both technical and artistic levels, with an understanding of what makes a good photograph or video.

  • Knowledge of conventional camera pipelines and operations, including sharpening, denoising, HDR and image fusion concepts, compression, and video coding.

  • Experience with camera lab equipment and operating camera systems in a lab environment.

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and cross-functional teams.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300 and $241,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
