PCB Tester & Quality Assurance Engineer - N. Houston, TX

Description:

• Designed test plans for product qualifications for all new PC Boards and new AC Motors. These qualifications included HALT Testing, Temperature/Humidity Testing, Salt Spray Testing, and Lifecycle Testing to simulate a minimum of 10 years of life in the field. The testing also included “B vs C” testing to show the new PC Boards or new Motors were an improvement over the old PC Boards or Motors.

• Be a member of our Company Printed Circuit Board Task Force as the Reliability Department representative. The function of this task force is to direct and develop companywide initiatives and set priorities for dealing with component shortages on the PC Boards used in all our products. The responsibility on the task force will be to advise on risk associated with component changes and what testing could be implemented to reduce the risk from these changes.

• Work on the team that develops our first in-house designed PC Board in 10 years, advising on Reliability Testing and Engineering Testing, working closely with the contract manufacturer to insure the quality of the PC Boards produced would meet the standards of the company.

• Investigate field failures that had a high warranty claim rate, to know what use and conditions failures were seen. A Time Delay Board replacement is one example of this.
