Step Into a Career as an Extrusion Operator

Do you have a knack for precision, enjoy hands-on work, and thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment? We’re looking for a dedicated and skilled Extrusion Operator to join our Sustaplast team and play a key role in the production of high-quality products.

As an Extrusion Operator, you’ll take charge of operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced extrusion equipment, ensuring our production lines run smoothly. What You’ll Do:

• Gain a thorough understanding of all aspects and operating parameters of the extruders, water systems, dryers, and loaders.

• Perform extruder setup, teardown, and preparation, including installing dies and spreader blocks.

• Mix resins and operate rod and plate extruders, ensuring proper startup and shutdown procedures.

• Clean and maintain equipment, including hoppers, dies, ovens, saws, and more.

• Accurately complete reporting paperwork and follow all safety regulations.

• Identify, measure, and label finished products, ensuring they meet quality specifications.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• One to three months of related experience or training is ideal, though we’re willing to train the right candidate!

• Skills & Abilities:

• Strong understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations.

• Ability to read and follow instructions, schematics, and memos.

• Confidence operating a forklift, scales, and production equipment.

• Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot standardized situations.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• You’ll need to be comfortable standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.

• The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and occasional high or precarious places.

• Expect a loud work environment where safety is a top priority.

Pay Details: $17.00 to $18.00 per hour
