Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
Utilize current theories of psychosocial, developmental, educational, and pediatric care to deliver family-centered care to neonates, toddlers, preschoolers, school age and adolescent patient populations
Work interdependently with and independently of the larger multi-disciplinary team, with the expanded scope of practice under the delegated authority and supervision of the designated supervising physician(s) in accordance with the delegation protocol or practice guideline which is developed in collaboration with and approved by the supervising physician(s)
Major functional areas include; practitioner, consultant, educator and researcher
Communicate and collaborate with other health professionals as well as demonstrate substantial interpersonal skills necessary to teach patient, families and staff effectively
Facilitate communication with outside agencies, schools, other resources, etc. for the benefits of the patient. Active involvement in community and professional programs
Required Skills/Abilities
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nursing program (APRN) or physician assistant (PA) program and are certified through a recognized accrediting agency and hold a current Texas license
2 years of experience in pediatric orthopedics
Membership and active participation in professional organizations are beneficial
Knowledge of growth and development from birth through adolescence
Ability to learn new skills in a timely manner
Flexibility and adaptability to change
High level of analytical ability and critical thinking skills
Create and maintain effective working relationship with hospital staff peers, medical staff, and administration
