This job is a member of the Domestic Pricing and Yield Management (YM) Team within the Revenue Management Division. In Revenue Management, we aim to empower our team members to make informed decisions that impact American Airline’s passenger revenue. What you'll do

  • Act as internal business consultant focused on synthesizing large data sets to understand market level trends and strategies, diagnose, and resolve performance issues, and deliver insights to translate into meaningful market-level actions

  • Identify revenue opportunities by developing and implementing inter-departmental strategies through quantitative analysis of historical passenger demand, the competitive environment, and consumer buying behavior

  • Collaborate with commercial counterparts such as Network Planning and Revenue Engineering to define strategies to position American Airlines to maximize on revenue opportunities

  • Ideate and build innovative methods to digest large quantities of information through data visualization to support teams in making evidence-based decisions and gaining buy in from Senior Leadership

  • Assist peers in the development of their critical thinking and analytical skills through the distilling of relevant trends from large quantities of data and understanding of complex data outputs.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Aviation, Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or any related field

  • 2 years industry or data-related experience

  • Experience in drawing insights from complex data sources, explaining the findings, and sharing recommendations

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master’s degree with significant coursework or experience in Analytics, Aviation, Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or any related field

  • SQL query writing ability

  • Familiarity with Pricing and YM tools to conduct ad hoc analyses with ability to write advanced SQL queries and use a variety or reports including Tableau and advanced Excel

  • Superior technical and quantitative/analytical skills and expert in data manipulation with ability to derive and present conclusions resulting in actionable outcomes

  • Ability to extrapolate, manipulate and analyze data efficiently with ability to see big picture, spot high level trends, and identify actionable insights

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Proactive self-starter needing minimal supervision with ability to juggle multiple priorities

  • Ability to translate complex analyses into an easy-to-understand manner through oral and written channels of communication including presentations

  • Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills, demonstrates proactiveness and comfortable being self-directed

  • Strong negotiation skills with an ability to influence others to create consensus

  • Forward thinking self-starter that can transition between independent and collaborative team structures
