PNC Infrastructure Architect Mgr Sr. (Database Infrastructure) in Dallas, Texas

This position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint. Responsibilities require time in the office or in a field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities can be performed remotely. Additional locations may be considered.

As an Infrastructure Architect Manager Sr., within PNC's Technology organization, you can be based Phoenix AZ, Pittsburgh PA, Strongsville OH, Dallas TX or Birmingham AL.

Responsibilities

Director over the managers of database infrastructure teams including Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle, Oracle Exadata, MongoDB, NEO4j, Teradata, and Informatica

Own the technology roadmaps and strategy for each of the enterprise database technologies

Budgeting and driving cost efficiency of our database platforms

Set and communicate the database platforms SLAs and SLOs

Work closely with peer teams in Database Change and Database Site Reliability

Maintain enterprise standards for database security and encryption, performance, high availability and disaster recovery.

Stay up to date with the latest improvements and trends in the database industry

Drive automation and process improvements

Qualifications

Leadership, communication, and presentation skills

Extensive experience in database management and database engineering

Experience managing and prioritizing a backlog of work

Architecture background/experience is a plus

Capable of managing urgent requests/issues and organizing and driving response

Ideally 10+ years in data engineering or architecture and 5+ years in leadership or management

Job Description

  • Develops strategies for platform architecture and insures that they align with business strategies and processes; manages technical resources and architecture staff to deliver high quality programs.

  • Develops strategies for platform architecture and creates a vision that aligns with business strategies, processes and needs.

  • Designs best practices, standards, architectural approaches and complex technical resolutions for (PA) processes.

  • Oversees overarching quality improvement efforts for platform architecture.

  • Manages, motivates, and develops the performance of the technology management team and key staff

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
