We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an interim Assistant Controller in Fort Worth, Texas. The role involves acting as an interim Assistant Controller in the real estate industry, with a focus on property management. The Assistant Controller will be instrumental in building out an accounting department, establishing accounting processes, and transitioning the organization to GAAP accounting. 100% ONSITE in Fort Worth, TX (near the Stockyards Fort Worth). Must have YARDI software experience. Must have real estate industry experience. This is a 3-4 month contract position.

Interim Assistant Controller (contract):

Responsibilities:

• Act as the interim Assistant Controller, overseeing all accounting functions.

• Use your knowledge of the real estate industry to build out accounting processes.

• Assist in building out an accounting department, including training incoming staff.

• Transition the organization to GAAP accounting, with a focus on month-end close support and financial statement support.

• Manage the General Ledger (GL) and perform heavy reconciliation tasks.

• Utilize your forensic accounting experience to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Utilize accounting software systems such as MRI and Yardi, with a focus on ERP solutions. Yardi experience is required.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, and perform auditing as necessary.

• Use advanced Excel skills to manage and analyze data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance

• Professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is a plus

Yardi experience is required

MRI experience is a plus
