This job is within the American Airlines Federal Credit Union. The role is responsible for qualifying American Airlines Credit Union members to determine the proper loan program, completing loan applications and keeping members informed of the loan status.

What you'll do

  • Assist members in completing online Home Equity applications using MeridianLink, provide members with all required disclosures and obtain necessary support documents

  • Negotiate terms and conditions of loans with members in accordance with Credit Union Policy and Procedures

  • Set up loans; gather and review qualifying documents

  • Place applicable orders for Home Equity-related services and process loans

  • Perform income analysis of loan documentation, to include complex tax returns such as those for corporations, partnerships, and sub-S corporations

  • Refer loans to Credit Union underwriters

  • Serve as the primary contact for all parties involved on each loan from application to close, utilizing clear and effective communications skills

  • Provide excellent member service to Credit Union members and employees

  • Maintain effective communication with all Credit Union departments to ensure coordination and exchange of information for accomplishing Credit Union goals

  • Work collaboratively with team in analyzing and solving situations that may arise in the Home Equity application and loan process

  • Remain up to date on state regulations governing Credit Union lending, with particular emphasis on rules and regulations governing real property lending on home equity loans

  • Strive for continuous improvement of processes and quality of service in support of Credit Union goals

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and/or work experience relevant to the described job duties Three or more years of recent mortgage loan origination and processing experience on conventional, FHA, and/or VA products or in the financial services industry Three of more years of experience in a customer service related industry

Skills, Licenses and Certifications

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software

  • Ability to utilize MeridianLink and ability to learn new software applications

  • Knowledge of all loan programs offered by the Credit Union, including forms and documentation for each type of loan, and the ability to apply that knowledge successfully in the job

  • Knowledge of how other Credit Union departments are interrelated with the Home Equity Department and the ability to apply that knowledge effectively in performance of the job

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks and function as an integral part of a team

  • Ability to display strong math proficiency, with a high degree of accuracy

  • Ability to interact professionally with all employees and members

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving

  • Ability to self-motivate with strong organization skills and capacity for attention to detail

  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines

  • Ability to adjust work schedule and work additional hours as needed to support business needs

  • Ability to travel

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time

  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance

  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
