DroneUp Maintenance Technician in Dallas, Texas
DroneUp is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for maintaining DroneUp's fleet of aircraft. In this role, the employee will perform mechanical, firmware, and software services to multiple components of DroneUp's aircraft in our Texas market. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal teams as well as external contractors to ensure minimal aircraft downtime will be one of the primary responsibilities of this role.
Responsibilities
Generate reports, field maintenance documentation, audits, and support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. This spans across multiple aircraft and hub locations within a 50 mile radius for a designated territory
Maintain mechanical hardware as requested and approved by maintenance management
Maintain comprehensive notes and documentation associated with aircraft repair services
Ensure that adequate maintenance service forms are kept up-to-date and signed accordingly by the appropriate maintenance service personnel
Interact with contractors, vendors, OEMs, and internal management on a daily basis
Travel on a weekly and sometimes on a daily basis between hub/store locations within a 50 mile radius to service and/or pick up equipment
Support shipping and receiving of parts and equipment to keep the fleet operational
Conduct repair services on-site or at a designated repair location determined by the maintenance management team
Conduct RTS (return to service) test flights as required
Assist UAS-Integration Specialists in performing routine flight testing as required
Train regional UAS-I Specialist and Level 1 Maintenance Pilots to perform basic maintenance functions
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge of various sUAS platforms
Ability to work with precision mechanical tools and electrical measurement equipment
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment using mechanical, electrical, and software tools
Understand software based applications for troubleshooting flight systems issues
Understand firmware, such as OpenTX, Ardupilot, PX4
FAA Part 107 certification required
Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicles
Able to physically lift equipment up to 55 lbs
Knowledge of RF systems and equipment used for sUAS operations
High level understanding of 14 CFR Part 107 regulations, airspace, and LAANC system
Experience with a variety of UAS platforms
Experience with one or more of the following: ArduPilot, ArduPilot Mission Planner, MAVlink protocol, QGroundControl, Mavlink, RFD Tools, Radio Telemetry or DJI Go
Knowledge in Google Earth, Google apps, and UAV piloting apps
Experience with radio controlled airplanes or RC systems in general is a plus
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Salary
Just like drones themselves, your earning potential can soar to new heights, but it largely depends on your qualifications and expertise. If you are recognized as an industry expert, your earning potential can take true flight. The target salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000. Your unique qualifications and contributions to the field will play a significant role in determining your precise compensation.
